Update!

After doing abit more reading and researching i have decided my definate theme. I was, at first, going to write about homosexuality and 'coming out' as my personal moment but after a while of thinking and researching i have decided to change my personal moment theme to domestic violence. I have already read the whole of Angela Ashworth's 'Once in a House on Fire' which includes quite a lot of domestic violence as well as child abuse.

I have been looking for literary books on this topic (Amazon!) Found a couple of books but they are not recognised authors as such so Miss Witney is going to contact the exam board and ask for some suggestions. As for other sources i am going to watch 'Sleeping With the Enemy' which is a film recommended by Miss Witney and includes domestic violence.

I have also been doing lots of research on this kind of violence, lots of websites i have looked at have facts and statistics which will help me in backing up the evidence i have found. I now need to carry on with my research and continue reading more books to increase my knowledge on this topic.

Plans for Year 13 Coursework

Over the course of year 13, i have chosen 'personal memories' as my theme for my coursework. I was chosen to study and investigate the theme of 'personal memories' and decided i want to further it on and do my coursework on it.

I have had a look at the core books chosen by the exam board such as Fergal Keane's 'All of These People' and Andrew Motion's 'In the Blood'. I will try to get hold of these books and have a read over the holidays.

Another core book suggested is Angela Ashworth's 'Once in a House on Fire'. The reviews look really good so i have already purchased the book and am currently reading it - really interesting, gripping and moving.

Will finish reading this book and start thinking about the personal memories involved in these particular books.
